Willkommen auf der Homepage des Künstlers Maximilian Suppantschitsch!

The artist Maximilian Suppantschitsch was focused on landscape art and did circa 1000 paintings and etchings. A study trip 1886 awakened his interest for the scenic attractions of the Wachau, he became kind of a  "chronicler" of this region. The "Wachau-Painter" Suppantschitsch created not only landscapes, but also a lot of sketches and detailed studies of architectonic and folkloric subjetcs. His works show an interest in the post-Biedermeier vedutas.

Suppantschitsch was highly regarded in Vienna, he received the Königswarter-Prize, the Golden Sate Medal 1908 and the Drasche-Price 1915.
